So I had a bit of a rude awakening yesterday when I visited the Flatiron Origins store for a shopping trip.  I’ve never been a huge “product” girl, and I’ve never even  had a skincare routine…sheesh, I had my first facial about a month ago.  I have to thank my genetics a bit for never really breaking out or having crazy discolorations.  In my mind, I’ve never felt the need for a routine. However,  as my 28th birthday approaches on Saturday,  I’ve come to realize now is a better time than ever to play a PROACTIVE roll in the care of my aging skin.  Someone posted this photo on twitter this morning of me…and it scared the sh@$ out of me!!

EEEEEkkkkkk!!! Not only is is a terrible picture before the wrinkles…but this alone is motivation for me to stick to my skin care “routine”.

After touring the store with the manager and talking about the things that are important to me, I ended up leaving with a new wealth of knowledge and too many products to fit on my sink! (I even got a few things for JP)

First off, I got a few bathroom products for our new apartment! JP loved the smell of this Keep Calm Soy candle so much that he doesn’t want to light it until we move into our new place. He says it’ll be our “new apartment smell”.   Lavender, Rosemary, and Jasmine. Yum! haha

Origins Candle, Keep Calm Candle, 1 ea

Origins Ginger Float Cream Bubble Bath, 17.6 oz

Origins A Perfect World Intensely Hydrating Body Cream 7 oz (Qunatity of 1)

First off, the manager at the Flatiron Store, Ana, knew what she was talking about! Here is what I ended up walking away with for my morning routine: a cleanser for normal skin to open up and clean pores, a purifying toner to close off pores, Plantscription anti-aging serum and eye treatment (28 is kinda old ;P) and the best is the energy boosting moisturizer with SPF that goes on a cream but adds color as you rub! It was like magic. This is really perfect for a spring or summer day where you want to go sans makeup! Love it! Also the Planscription products won Best of Beauty awards in 2011. YESSSS!

Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash 5 oz

Origins Zero Oil(TM) Pore Purifying Toner 5 oz

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging serum, 1 fl oz

Origins Plantscription™ Anti-Aging Eye Treatment 0.5 oz

Origins VitaZing(TM) SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen 1.7 oz

My nighttime routine is just about the same except for the high-potency Night-a-Mins I lather to supplement my skin. Smells amazing!

Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins™ Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream 1.7 oz

A couple products to use on an as-needed basis are these: Nature’s gentle dermabrasion that is 94% as effective as a microdermabrasion! Wow! And the next is a Charcoal mask that actually vacuums out your pores. When you take the mask off, your black and white heads are literally standing on end!!! Who needs Biore strips! Try not to scare your significant other while wearing this though…

Modern Friction Natures Gentle Dermabrasion 125ml/4oz

Origins Clear Improvement(TM) Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores 3.4 oz

And now…last but not least, JP’s favorite products! JP is lucky to have pretty good skin and pretty darn cute face…so he doesn’t need much. But… I decided to get him a few products, one, in particular, that he LOVES!

Origins Never A Dull Moment Skin-Brightening Face Polisher, 4.2 fl oz

Origins Blade Runner® Energizing Shave Cream, 5 fl oz.

and his favorite….!!!

Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega Mushroom Face Lotion 1.7 Oz

The best thing about these products are that they are all formulated without Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene glycol, Mineral oil, PABA, Petrolatum, Paraffin, DEA, synthetic color, synthetic ingredients, and animal ingredients! Au naturale baby!

Take care of yo face!
xx
