Ashley Lynn Hebert
Although her life and character will always be rooted in the small French-Acadian community of Madawaska, Maine, ever since Ashley was a child, she always dreamed big. Those who grew up with her remember her as the bubbly child that at 3 years old would ride her bike up and down the street with pigtails flapping in the wind. She was a child with interests, a child with substance, someone people always said would “make it big one day”. No one knew exactly how. Some thought that her love , innate talent, and achievement in dance would lead her to a career in the bright lights of New York City, others knew her as the motivated student, whose academic achievement would make you think she may have the title “Doctor” one day. No matter how she would get there, everyone knew she could never do it ordinarily.
Ashley knew at a very young age of the limited opportunities in Northern Maine, and figured the only way out was to be extraordinary at everything she did. Ashley did just this. She grew passionate about dance while she studied at the Main Street Dance Studio in New Brunswick, Canada. This, along with her academic achievement allowed her to attain the position as a representative for Maine at America’s Junior Miss, a scholarship program for college-bound females. Throughout this program Ashley was awarded with multiple scholarships and remembered as someone that shined. Ashley went on to attend the University of Maine where she graduated with a 3.93 GPA and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Dance. At UMaine Ashley was captain of the dance team and was awarded with multiple academic awards for attaining the highest GPA in her major two years in a row. It was here that Ashley started a mentorship with Dr. Jonathan Shenkin, a Pediatric Dentist in the Bangor area. She immediately was inspired by his practice philosophy and his advocacy for children. Ashley went on the attend the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a 3.96 GPA and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Ashley was also nominated as one of few dental students into a prestigious National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Ashley is now living in New York City and will begin her Pediatric Dental Residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in July.
Ashley was a contestant on ABC’s “The Bachelor” Season 15 and starred on “The Bachelorette” Season 7, where she met her fiancé, and love of her life, J.P. Rosenbaum.
